"Teachers Beware!" (A Fruitful Faith, part 17)

Point: After thoroughly correcting the boastful professor that true faith must have works, James turns his attention from works to words. He intends these lessons for all Christians. But as he transitions to addressing the whole Church, James first and foremost warns all who would even aspire to be teachers that such are most in danger of misusing the power of the tongue.

I. Aspiring to a noble task (1 Timothy 3:1; 2 Timothy 4:1-2)

II. Judged with greater strictness (James 3:1)

III. Grace and growth for stumblers (James 3:2; Titus 3:3-8)
